L’Anse Creuse Public Schools prides itself on offering a multitude of opportunities for students to find their passion and achieve their personal best. Preschool

Little minds are eager to learn and L’Anse Creuse offers several opportunities for parents to enroll their children in preschool and other early learning options.

Elementary School

L’Anse Creuse’s nine elementary schools are offering a robust traditional curriculum as well as many co-curricular opportunities including art, music, physical education, media , Spanish and Chinese Immersion*. 

* Note: Chinese Immersion is currently only available at Joseph M. Carkenord Elementary School and Donald J. Yacks Elementary School.

Middle School

When students transition from the elementary level to the middle school level they are exposed to many more opportunities. The students are getting older and they are starting to find what motivates them every day to learn. Middle school students can participate in school and club athletics, take Spanish class, perform in band or choir, and enroll in advanced classes.

Athletics

Students at LCHS and LCHS-N can be involved in many different sports teams, including football, volleyball, lacrosse, track and field, baseball, basketball, swimming.

Career & Technical Education

The Pankow Center provides programs that prepare students for jobs that are in demand and that offer long-range career opportunities. L'Anse Creuse students may choose to participate in the more specialized technical preparation curricula at the Pankow Center.  Many of the programs begin as early as the tenth grade and continue toward a two or four-year degree at a technical school, community college or university. Students enrolled in career and technical education will be prepared to enter fields of work which lead to more economically rewarding positions.

Art

L’Anse Creuse is filled with talented students who have many opportunities for fine arts classes and clubs including pottery, painting, drawing and more.

Performing Arts

L’Anse Creuse is known for having outstanding bands, choirs and drama productions. Students can participate at both high schools. Additionally, student can enroll in the Performing Arts Program at the Frederick V. Pankow Center and participate in acting, dance or broadcast media.

Free College Credit

Students are provided many opportunities to earn free college credit before they graduate from high school through Advanced Placement courses, Early College Macomb and Dual Enrollment.

Math/Science/Technology (MST)

Our Math/Science/Technology Program offers advanced courses in mathematics and science, with technology integrated across all courses. In addition, students attending the Pankow Center may engage in focused, extra-curricular opportunities that provide authentic learning experiences. Technology is integrated into each course offered at the Pankow Center in various degrees with the intention of providing a real-world experience for students. State-of-the-art biology, chemistry and physics labs, along with other scientific and technology equipment, are available as we prepare students for our fast-paced, changing world.

Student Clubs

Students at the high schools can become a part of several different clubs. Clubs may vary from one building to the next, based on interest.

World Languages

High school students at L’Anse Creuse Public Schools can enroll in Chinese, Italian, French, German and Spanish. Many students involved in language classes will have the opportunity to participate in an exchange program or travel abroad.
