L'Anse Creuse Public Schools believes that technology will support and enhance instruction. Technology should make the workplace more efficient and effective. Technology shall be used to increase communication with students, parents, staff, and the community. Lastly, technology will be used to increase the security and safety of students and staff.

Affordable internet access options

AT&T

AT&T is offering two months of free Internet service to new, eligible customers who order Access by May 23, 2020.  For details and eligibility, visit https://www.att.com/shop/internet/access/

AT&T is also offering unlimited Internet data for all consumer home Internet customers through June 30, 2020. https://about.att.com/pages/COVID-19.html

Comcast Xfinity

Comcast is offering two free months of Internet service to new, eligible Internet Essential customers who apply by June 30, 2020. For details and eligibility, visit https://www.internetessentials.com/covid19

Xfinity is also offering free access to their WiFi hotspots. To find your nearest hotspot, visit https://wifi.xfinity.com/

Sprint

T-Mobile

All T-Mobile customers as of March 13, 2020 who have plans with data will have unlimited smartphone data through June 30,2020. Verizon

Verizon customers who have Lifeline service as of March 20, 2020 will have all billing charges waived for 60 days.  For details and eligibility, visit https://www.verizon.com/support/consumer/account/manage-account/lifeline-discount

How to connect an iPad to Wi-Fi

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Settings app, and then tap Wi-Fi.
  2. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. The toggle switch should be green when Wi-Fi is on.
  3. Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to join.
  4. Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network, and then tap Join. If you can’t tap Join, the password you entered is incorrect. If you don’t know the password, check the back of your Internet router or contact your Internet service provider for assistance.

How to connect a Chromebook to Wi-Fi

  1. Upon turning on the Chromebook, you will be presented with a list of available networks.
  2. Click the name of the Wi-Fi network you want to join. Be sure to scroll down if needed.
  3. Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network, and then click Connect. If you don’t know the password, check the back of your Internet router or contact your Internet service provider.

How to sign in to a Chromebook or Google Chrome

  1. Enter the student’s district email address, and then click Next.  Their email address consists of their student number plus the first three letters of their last name followed by @lc-ps.org.  Note: students do not have email enabled on their Google Accounts; this is simply their Google Account username.
  2. Enter the student’s district Google Account password, and then click Next. Their password is their birth date starting with the 4-digit year, then 2-digit month, and then 2-digit day (i.e., YYYYMMDD).

L'Anse Creuse offers several online learning options for students in K-12. The information in this section explains how to access each of these programs. 
While all options are available to L'Anse Creuse students, you should check with your  teacher to see how they are delivering your lesson plans and assignments.

Google G Suite & Classroom

Access: https://accounts.google.com or https://classroom.google.com

Classroom is a product in G Suite for Education, which also includes Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and slides. Gmail is not available for students, please refer to Student Email section.
All L'Anse  Students have a Google G Suite for Education account.

Microsoft Office 365

Office 365 Education is a collection of services that allows you to collaborate and share your schoolwork. The service includes Office Online (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote), and personal cloud storage.
All L'Anse  Students have a 365 account.

Student Email

Email is available on Microsoft Office 365 to all secondary students. Grades 6-8 can only email their teachers. Grades 9-12 have full email access and all incoming and outgoing mail content is scanned and monitored.

Technology acceptable Use Policy

L’Anse Creuse Public Schools encourages and strongly promotes the use of technology among students, staff, parents and community members. Individuals, who use district technology, must have proper authorization and adhere to district policies. Additionally, all use of technology must support and be consistent with the district’s stated goals. Individuals who do not follow the user responsibilities may be subject to disciplinary action including the loss of technology privileges.
