Summer Learning Resources

The L’Anse Creuse Public Schools Summer Resources page is designed to support continued learning and enrichment throughout the summer months. Families can explore a variety of optional academic, creative, and community-based opportunities that encourage students to remain engaged, practice skills, and explore new interests beyond the school year.

  • Grades K–2 Summer Learning Calendar

    The Grades K–2 Summer Learning Calendar provides engaging daily activities designed to support early literacy, math, creativity, movement, and exploration. Activities include both digital and hands-on learning opportunities that encourage young learners to practice skills and stay engaged throughout the summer.

  • Grades 3–5 Summer Learning Calendar

    The Grades 3–5 Summer Learning Calendar offers weekly activities focused on reading, math, STEM, creativity, and real-world learning experiences. The calendar combines digital resources, independent challenges, and interactive activities to help students continue building academic skills while exploring personal interests over the summer months.

  • Bridges Math Learning Center Apps

    The Math Learning Center Apps provide interactive math tools and games that support the district’s Bridges mathematics program. Students can practice problem-solving, number sense, geometry, and other math skills through engaging digital activities aligned to classroom learning.

  • Discovery Education

    Students will continue to have access to Discovery Education, which offers engaging videos, virtual field trips, interactive activities, and standards-aligned learning resources across multiple subject areas. Students can log in using their district credentials:

  • ExactPath 

    Students will have access to ExactPath, a personalized learning platform that provides standards-aligned reading and mathematics practice tailored to each student’s individual skill level. Students can log in using their district credentials:

  • Michigan eLibrary (MeL) Kids 

    The Michigan eLibrary Kids (MeLKids) section provides elementary students with free access to age-appropriate articles, games, read-aloud stories, videos, and educational activities. Designed specifically for young learners, MeLKids supports reading, research, creativity, and exploration in a safe and engaging online environment.

  • Michigan Learning Channel

    The Michigan Learning Channel provides free educational videos, lessons, and interactive learning resources for students and families. Content supports a variety of subjects and grade levels, helping students continue learning and exploration throughout the summer.

  • Starfall 

    Starfall is an interactive learning website that helps students build early reading, phonics, and math skills through games, songs, stories, and engaging activities. Designed for elementary learners, the platform supports independent practice in a fun and child-friendly environment.

  • TumbleBooks 

    TumbleBooks is an online library featuring animated read-aloud books, eBooks, graphic novels, and educational videos for elementary students. The platform supports independent reading and literacy development through engaging, interactive stories and activities.

  • TumbleMath 

    TumbleMath is an interactive math resource that uses stories, games, and problem-solving activities to help students strengthen key math concepts. The platform makes math practice engaging and accessible while supporting skill development across elementary grade levels.

This section includes in-person summer learning and enrichment opportunities available to L’Anse Creuse students, including both district-sponsored programs and community-based camps and activities. Families can explore a variety of experiences focused on academics, creativity, leadership, STEM, and personal growth throughout the summer months.

In-District Offerings

  • Camp Invention (Grades K-6)

    Camp Invention is a hands-on STEM enrichment program focused on creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through interactive science, technology, engineering, and design activities. The program will take place at L'Anse Creuse Middle School North from August 3–7, 2026 for students entering grades K–6. Registration fees are approximately $285–$310, with discounts and payment plans often available.

  • Heart Global Performing Arts Camp  (Grades 2-12)

    HEART Global Performing Arts Summer Camp provides students with opportunities to build confidence, creativity, and leadership skills through dance, voice, and theatre arts. The 5-day camp will take place at L'Anse Creuse High School North from June 22–26, 2026, culminating in a live community performance featuring campers and international teaching artists. 

  • L'Anse Creuse Summer Day Camp (Ages 5-12)

    The L’Anse Creuse Summer Day Camp provides students with a fun, structured summer experience featuring activities, field trips, and opportunities for social engagement in a safe and supportive environment. Camp runs June 15 – July 31, 2026 at Green Elementary and Tenniswood Elementary, with hours from 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Community Offerings

  • Chesterfield Township Enrichment Camp (Ages 5-11)

    The Chesterfield Township Enrichment Camp is a state-licensed summer camp for children ages 5–11 held at the Chesterfield Community Center. The camp offers daily activities, weekly field trips, crafts, special events, camp T-shirts, and Pizza Fridays in a fun and active environment. Four week-long sessions are available throughout the summer, with camp running Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Registration fees are approximately $250 for residents and $260 for non-residents per week.

  • Macomb Community College - A Day-in-the-Life Career Academies (Grades 6-10)

    Macomb Community College Career Academies provide hands-on summer learning experiences for students entering grades 6–10. Programs introduce students to career pathways such as health care, entrepreneurship, media arts, culinary arts, technology, and STEM through interactive activities led by college faculty in real-world learning environments.

  • Summer Discovery with Chesterfield Parks and Rec (Incoming Grades 1-4) 

    The Summer Discovery Program, hosted at the Chesterfield Community Center, provides free summer learning and enrichment opportunities for students through a combination of academics, hands-on activities, and social-emotional learning experiences. The program runs June 15, 2026 – July 31, 2026, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m..

Through a partnership between L'Anse Creuse Public Schools, the Chesterfield Township Library, the Clinton-Macomb Public Library, and the Harrison Township Public Library, every student has access to a free virtual public library card. Students can immediately access digital resources, and families may upgrade access for free by visiting their home library in person to borrow print materials and additional library resources. This innovative partnership supports the ConnectED Library Challenge and expands student access to learning opportunities throughout the year.

In addition to providing access to your local public library, your library card can unlock adventures across Michigan! Through the Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) Program, families can access free or discounted admission to more than 440 destinations, including state parks, museums, campgrounds, trails, cultural attractions, and more. Explore, learn, and experience all Michigan has to offer while creating fun summer memories together.
