M-Step Testing Information
This year the juniors will be taking the Science and Social Studies M-Step. Please view the spring testing schedule linked below to see when your student will test.
State of Michigan Educational Standards - The M-Step is based upon Michigan's Academic Standards.
SAT and ACT
WHO: 11th Grade students
WHAT: The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test(Top students in the nation compete)
WHEN: Wednesday, October 16th, 7:15am
WHERE: LCHS - room to be determined
COST- $20 Registration from September 13 - September 30. Late registration takes place Oct. 1st - 4th with additional $10 fee.
HOW: Sign up at https://www.TotalRegistration.net/PSAT/232654
On the Total Registration page, you will sign up and pay for the exam by credit card or mailing in a check. Please download the permission slip and return to the Counseling office by Monday, October 7. Once your permission slip has been received, you will be given a PSAT booklet that explains the test and provides sample test questions.

Many juniors are still electing to take the ACT. Rest assured that colleges and universities still value the ACT, and they are able to convert SAT and ACT scores for their use in college applications. Below are some helpful links about the ACT.

Khan Academy provides students with SAT practice tests and tutorials. You can even link your College Board SAT and PSAT tests into your Khan Academy log-in for a personalized tutorial.
Learning Express Library College Prep and Testing Center: practice tests and tutorials for kids wanting more on the ACT and SAT. After practicing on Khan Academy, this site has test reviews and practices which are comprehensive and helpful for students. An account needs to be created for this site, but once created, test prep records are kept for future reference and use.
