Academic Goals of Tenniswood Elementary
L'Anse Creuse Public Schools prides itself on providing students a comprehensive elementary program that is based on Best Practice and national and state curricular standards. Programs are designed to meet the individual and unique needs of children, provide meaningful learning experiences and enable every child to develop the attitudes and skills needed to be lifelong learners and productive members of a democratic society.
Elementary Education
Each of our district's elementary schools create a learning community that motivates students to work collaboratively and purposefully. Children are provided with a predictable school environment that enables them to feel comfortable, safe, respected and appreciated. Students respect one another and support each other's learning, while taking responsibility for their own learning and behavior. They see themselves as well as their classmates as valued and contributing members of the school community.
Students are provided with meaningful learning experiences that enable them to question, hypothesize, investigate, explore and relate new information to prior knowledge. Instruction is designed to address a variety of learning styles and needs. Students are encouraged to explore topics, make guesses and take appropriate risks. They are given opportunities to make choices and, as a result, value their learning experiences because they are more personally meaningful to them.
