Adult Education & GED Classes and Testing

Mission Statement

The Center for Lifelong Learning at the Pellerin Center provides a comprehensive range of adult education and workforce development services designed to support lifelong learning and career success. Our programs include GED preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL), Civics education, Pearson VUE Authorized Testing Center services, and work-readiness programs offered in collaboration with local Michigan Works! agencies. Through these services, we empower adult learners with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to achieve their educational, professional, and personal goals.

Pursuing a GED?

If you are planning on pursuing your GED please call (586) 783-6420 between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.  We offer a flexible schedule with a highly qualified staff at no cost to you - FREE!  

GED Courses

Classes are offered in a flexible learning lab environment where students work independently on individualized curriculum at their own pace. A variety of instructional methods and resources are available, including traditional textbooks, computer-based programs, and online learning tools that students can access both in the classroom and at home. This flexible approach allows learners to receive the support they need while progressing toward their individual educational goals.

Class Schedule: Classes meet Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

ESL Courses

The English as a Second Language (ESL) program provides instruction and support for adult learners who want to improve their English language skills for everyday communication, education, employment, and community participation. Instruction focuses on developing reading, writing, speaking, listening, and practical communication skills. The ESL program provides a flexible, supportive learning environment where students receive individualized instruction and progress at a pace that meets their unique needs and goals. A variety of instructional resources and learning methods are used, including textbooks, computer-based programs, and online tools that students can access both in the classroom and at home. This personalized approach helps students build confidence and strengthen their English language skills for success in their personal lives, education, and workplace.

Class Schedule: Classes meet Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
