Every school year, a variety of opportunities are available for students from families with limited financial resources as identified through the National School Lunch Program, these opportunities include reduction of fees for extracurricular activities and other services. With your approval, when these types of opportunities become available, the district will forward information directly to you.
By law we can only access your contact information with your approval. If you choose to not submit this form we will continue to have the information about assistance and opportunities available on our district website and in the main office of your child(ren)’s school. Sending in this form will not change your eligibility status.

Student Insurance Assistance
L'Anse Creuse Public Schools does not provide accident insurance for students. The district does not pay medical bills for students involved in accidents, at school, or while participating in athletic activities. Parents may wish to contact their own insurance carrier for information on coverage. In addition to Information on low cost health care coverage for uninsured families, information is provided for free health care coverage for pregnant women, babies, and children under age 19.

Free and Reduced Meals
The Federal Government instituted a program to help student families, with-in certain income guidelines, to apply for subsidized meals (Free or Reduced Meals). Applications and an instruction sheet may be picked up at any District Building. Help may also be obtained by calling (586) 783-6550 ext. 1115.
Community Food Bank
L'Anse Creuse Public Schools has a community food bank for students currently enrolled in any L'Anse Creuse Public Schools educational program (preschool, K-12, and Adult/Alternative Education). Those in need should contact

Referrals can also be made by any district staff member.
Parent acceptance to the program is required.

Food 4 kids Program
The Food 4 kids Program is a Mobile Pantry Program partnered with Gleaner's Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. The mobile pantry is a traveling food pantry that parents pick up monthly. Each family receives a large box of food, typically including perishable and nonperishable food items and fresh fruits and vegetables. Families must be registered to participate. Please contact your school office for a referral.

To qualify for a Macomb Habitat house you must meet 4 basic qualifications:
- Ability to Pay:
- a) make a minimum of $20,000 per year, maximum depends on family size.
- b) debt-to-income ratio at 40% or less.

- Need: currently living in substandard housing
- Willingness to Partner: 250 sweat equity hours per adult in household.
- Macomb County Resident: for at least 6 months.
