MSE Families,

Eagle Day is right around the corner on Monday August 24th. You and your student are welcome anytime between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM to do all the necessary steps and your child will have their school picture taken. Please review the information below so everyone has the necessary paperwork completed and ready for a smooth start to the school year!

All forms are online through Parent Portal on PowerSchool and must be completed online prior to your child receiving their packet/schedule on Eagle Day. Directions for completing the forms online were sent out by LCPS on 8/11. If you already have a Parent Portal Account, please follow the Parent Portal Forms Directions to complete all of the forms.

For parents/guardians who do not have access to your Parent Portal account, please access PowerSchool at the link HERE. You will then click "sign in" and then enter your full email address as the username and then click "forgot username or password." You will get an email to reset your password which will allow you to access Parent Portal. Please click here for directions to create your Parent Portal account provided by the district: Directions for Creating Parent Portal Account . Once you have created your account, please follow the directions HERE for Accessing Documents in Parent Portal. If you are unable to access or create your Parent Portal account, please contact Mrs. Brossoit in the main office at brossti@lc-ps.org.

A few important things to note regarding the online forms:

Unless your address has changed, you do not need to upload a lease or utility bill
There are three forms that need an electronic signature. If you are signing in the Power School App, click the 3 dots (more) then click forms, it will automatically push you to the next signature page after signing. If you are on a browser, there are 4 tabs and you will have to click through each one to sign.
In the student contact page, you will see red symbols next to "custody" please disregard. There are no issues with any of these, it’s just the way the form integrated from PowerSchool causing that to show up.

Title I Information:

Middle School East is proud to announce that we will be a Title I school this year. This grant provides us with additional resources and funding to support student learning and academic achievement. These resources allow us to provide extra academic support, targeted interventions, instructional materials, and opportunities for students to grow in reading, math, and other academic areas. Our goal is simple: give every student the support and opportunities they need to be successful. Title I is one more way we can invest in our students and help them succeed! Education Benefits Form:

To continue to receive certain funding, such as Title I mentioned above, every LCPS family will fill out an Education Benefits Form (EBF). This form is one per family, so if you already filled out the information if you have a high school or elementary student in LCPS you do not have to fill it out again this year. The Education Benefits Form collects information needed to ensure the school receives state and federal funding for education programs. Without this information, L’Anse Creuse Public Schools could lose important funding for education programs that our students need. At Middle School East, these supplemental grants and programs allow us to provide supports and services for our students including tutoring, academic support, enrichment classes and interventions. Families can fill out the form online through the LC Family Portal (https://lansecreuse.familyportal.cloud/ and the click “apply for benefits”) or by printing out the paper version HERE . It is important that every family complete this form as the funding is based off completion. EBF Family Letter

School Picture Information

School Pictures can be ordered online through the Kaiser Studio Website using the School ID Code: 26LCMSE27. There will also be paper forms available on Eagle Day and Kaiser Studios will accept cash or check.

Student iPads

One of the forms online is the Device Agreement related to iPads. LCPS Technology will be on hand on Eagle Day to distribute student iPads as LC Middle Schools will be 1:1 iPads beginning this year. Please help us in reminding students the iPads are a tool for enhancing instruction and learning opportunities and not meant for things non-school related.
