Yacks    Green Elementary                             olgiaav@lc-ps.org                      Welcome to the elementary world of art!  My Master's Degree in Educational Leadership/Principalship was earned at Saginaw Valley State University.  My Bachelor of Arts degree was earned at Albion College.  I also have an additional 18 post graduate hours. Children are creating clay pieces, paintings, drawings, scratch art, origami, lighthouse art, weavings, self-portraits utilizing technology, a very special cross-curricular Art and Science unit, and much more.  We are learning, creating, producing and having fun!  I am enjoying your children immensely.  Thank you for the opportunity to serve them in this manner and for all of your supportive and kind words. The elementary art program includes two-dimensional art work, three-dimensional art work, art history, technology, craft work, group projects, experiential art, and individualized art production.  Children learn art vocabulary and concepts such as:  line, shape, value, color, form, subject, artist, medium, perspective, background, horizon line, and texture. You may wish to encourage your children to visit www.crayola.com for endless opportunities to learn about and create art.  Also, you may desire to search your personal computer station programs for “Paint” and support your children in exploring creative expression through this excellent art software tool.
