"We Touch The Future"

The following poem, written by a teacher at Donald J. Yacks Elementary, expresses our feelings for the students we serve each day.

We touch the future
We teach!
We help and guide
And make students reach.

We touch the future
So we have respect
For all our students
Then they connect.

We touch the future
So our expectations are high
Students respond
And do their best to comply.

We touch the future
So or strategies are many
No one method
Will do for any.

We touch the future
So we lead
They follow our example
And then take heed.

We touch the future
So we start where they are
Walking students through
Until they're a star.
