New Sorth River Construction Update March 2007

What's Happening

  • Installation of the roof trusses will be completed mid-March.
  • Installation of the metal decking on the west side of the building will begin the week of Mar. 19.
  • The boiler room is 90% complete.
  • Exterior brick on the east side of the building is being laid.
  • The brick on the interior stage wall area is nearing completion.
  • Installation of the duct work and piping in classrooms continues.
  • Drywall installation in the first floor classrooms is complete.
  • Basketball backboards have been installed in the gymnasium. 
  • Abatement and demolition contracts will be awarded this month.

    Construction Phases

    Phase I May 2005—February 2006

    Design and planning - Completed

    Phase II April 2006—August 2007

    Construction of new building

    Phase III June 2007— October 2007

    Demolition of old building
