Safety Patrol

School Safety Patrol is an honored position.  Millions of boys and girls have served since the program started in the early 1920’s.  Today at South River our fifth graders apply to be in our Safety Patrol club.  They must have both their parent’s approval and teacher approval to be a part of the patrol. 

The student’s primary responsibilities as a Safety Patroller are:

· Help children cross streets and get on and off busses safely to and from school.

· To help children become safe pedestrians.
