Students Head to SkillsUSA Championship
Sixteen Career and Technical Education students at the Frederick V. Pankow Center head to Lansing April 18 to compete in the 36th Annual State Leadership Conference & SkillsUSA Championships. Students will compete Saturday in Advertising Design, First Responder/CPR, Fire Fighting, Criminal Justice, CSI, and TV Production. “Students and advisors have been preparing for what is expected to be a very rigorous and demanding competition, said Michael Hintze, SkillsUSA sponsor. The SkillsUSA Michigan enrollment is up this year, thus increasing the level of competition. Students who win a gold medal at the state level will advance to the National Leadership and SkillsUSA Conference in Kansas City, Mo., in June.
