Agriscience and Natural Resource Class Helps Distribute and Plant 100 Trees in Honor of Arbor Day
The Agriscience and Natural Resources class at the Frederick V. Pankow Center will be distributing and helping plant 100 trees throughout the L’Anse Creuse district April 22 in honor of Arbor Day, April 25, which is an annual observance dedicated to the planting and conservation of trees. Art Van Furniture donated the trees. High school students plan to assist Graham Elementary students and Teens for Tots Preschoolers at Pankow on April 22 planting trees and flowers.
The Agriscience class will also be hosting the “Community School Garden Meeting at the Pankow greenhouse on Saturday, April 26, from 9:30 a.m.noon. This group is made up of local school and community garden groups from L’Anse Creuse schools, the Clinton-Macomb Public Library, and a few other Macomb County schools. Attendees will be given the opportunity to obtain annual flowers for their garden projects.
Finally, the Agriscience class will be holding their annual plant sale May 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and May 4 from noon-3 p.m. For more information about these events, contact teacher Shirley Tautolo at tautosh@lc-ps.org or at 586-783-6570.
