PA DANCE

Prerequisite:  This performance-based semester course is designed for students who have had previous dance experience or who have excellent movement aptitude.  Instructor approval is mandatory.

This course is designed to enhance the students’ knowledge of dance as a performing art.  The areas of concentration are different forms of jazz, hip-hop, ballet, some tap and modern styles of dance.  Some folk dance or ballroom dance may be incorporated depending upon the mix of male and female students in the course.  The course emphasizes performance and the student actively participates in the development of dance productions.  Attendance on a daily basis is crucial to be successful in this performance class and is factored into the final grade.  Students will provide their own personal dance clothes and jazz shoes.
