Biology Course Description:

Prerequisite: Invitation by the Math/Science/Technology (MST) Center based on high achievement in 8th grade science, standardized test scores, demonstrated interest and motivation and the recommendation of the 8th grade science teacher.

This course at the MST Center is a broad survey of the study of Biology and introductory science. This survey course covers all major areas of biology and is intended for students who plan to major in science, math or technology in post-secondary education. The course begins with the smallest units of life and works up to the largest systems of living things. Students will start with the chemical basis of life, progress through increasingly complex and diverse life forms, and ends with all like as one system.
