The Creuse Connection, a student-operated restaurant housed in the Frederick V. Pankow Center, is open for business on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., excluding half-days of school.
Dave McNamara, food service teacher, works with the students to plan the menu which features freshly baked breads, homemade soups, pizzas, apple pies (from scratch), specialty salads and much more. The restaurant is modeled after Panera, which combines quick, casual dining with great food.
The culinary team also does catering. “We try really hard to be self-supporting,” said McNamara, in his 33rd year of teaching. For the holidays, McNamara plans to sell cookies that the team will bake and plans to donate to local charities some of their homemade pumpkin pies and freshly baked rolls.
My Culinary Arts Classes are full with 85 students enrolled. Students are from L’Anse Creuse High School, L’Anse Creuse High School - North, Mt. Clemens High School, Richmond High School and Lutheran High North.
The Creuse Connection is located inside the Frederick V. Pankow Center at 24600 F. V. Pankow Boulevard in Clinton Township. For more information, please call (586) 783-6570 or e-mail mcnamda@lc-ps.org.
