WEB  DESIGN

COURSE DESCIPTION:  Web Design is a two-hour block program.  This program will emphasize how to plan, create, design, critique, and maintain web sites.  Students will learn a wide variety of proficiencies including HTML coding, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Macromedia FLASH MX, communication skills, graphics, and design.  Internet usage and research is an integral component of this class as well as using the digital camera and scanner.   Students will also have the benefit of earning co-op credit (toward high school graduation) and having the opportunity to become involved in Business Professionals of America (BPA), our student business organization. 


COURSE OBJECTIVE:  Students will understand aspects of architecture, navigation, and structure of Web design and creation.   Also, they will learn communication and Internet skills necessary to pursue a career or advanced education in the field of web site development and Internet exploration.

STUDENT OUTCOME:  Students will be able to create and design complete web sites suitable for commercial, educational, or personal needs.  Students learn and understand copyright issues, website development, communication skills, Internet exploration and research, and community service appreciation.
