GREEN TECHNOLOGY (STEM) PROGRAM:
These courses are designed as a one-year experience for students leading to post-secondary offerings in engineering and technology. The curriculum is a full immersion in STEM based learning. It includes critical thinking, problem solving,
technical communication, technical and computer applications.


9021 INTRODUCTION TO ENERGY
Credit 1.0/semester Grades 10 - 11 - 12
Requirements: Successful completion (C+ or better) one year High School Math, Science and English.

Introduction to Energy is a foundation program for Alternative Energy Technology, our second semester class on renewable energy
technologies. This course prepares students for careers in engineering and technology. This STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) based class will provide hands-on applications with technological topics such as electronic controllers, robotics, digital electronics, computer-aided-design, pneumatics, computer numerical control and rapid prototyping,
using state-of-the-industry equipment and software. This course is intended to be semester one of a one-year experience for students leading to post-secondary experiences involving alternative and renewable energy engineering and  technology. Students will participate in teams to complete design/build green projects such as eco-friendly hovercrafts, smart homes, maglev trains, and more.

9022 ALTERNATIVE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY
Credit 1.0/semester Grades 10 - 11 - 12
Requirements: Intro to Energy and (C+ or better) one year High School Math, Science and English.
Alternative Energy Technology is the second semester in our Green Technologies Program. This program prepares students for careers in engineering and technology. This STEM-based class will provide hands-on experiences with alternative and renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar, thermal and regenerative energy collectors, using state-of-the-industry equipment and software.
