AIS Heavy Equipment Operation, Repair, and Maintenance 

TOPICS COVERED:

BASIC ELECTRONICS

The theory of electronics coupled with the principles of charging, starting and monitoring systems and the use of test equipment.

BASIC HYDRAULICS

The principles of hydraulics, covering hydraulic theory, pumps, reservoirs, fluids filters, and activators (motors and cylinders).

BASIC ENGINES

Internal combustion engine principles coupled with teardown evaluation and reassembly procedures.

CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT OPERATION

Learn how to properly and safely operate backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, and wheel loaders.

DIESEL FUEL SYSTEMS

The principles of diesel fuel system operation along with techniques for timing fuel systems to the engines plus fuel injector testing and adjusting.

FUNDAMENTALS OF MECHANICS

Basic mathematics and arithmetic required by mechanical technicians, including the use of measuring instruments and the application of basic formulas.

APPLIED ELECTRONICS

The testing and troubleshooting of the electrical systems of specific machines.
