Pankow Pointers
The Frederick V. Pankow Center is a unique facility of the L’Anse Creuse Public School District. The Pankow Center is an extension to the program of studies offered at L’Anse Creuse High School, L’Anse Creuse High School North and other area high schools. It is a center where programs and technology provide a bridge from an academic agenda to career paths in the world of work. It is a place for community, business, industry, education, government, and unions to collaborate with partnership support for the benefit of the students.
- Application - Students must review their high school curriculum guide, determine priorities on their academic four-year plan and complete a class selection form during registration periods.
- Attendance - A common requirement expressed by business and industry leaders is regular and punctual attendance.
- Eligibility - Tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade students attending L’Anse Creuse High School, L’Anse Creuse High School North and students from neighboring schools within Macomb County may attend.
- Protocol - The culture within any building or program is a product of guidelines established to facilitate the learning process in an orderly and profitable environment. The expectation is that all personnel will exercise respect for and function within those guidelines.
- Requirements - Consideration is provided for students with physical, emotional and psychological limitations. Some course units may have safety and/or pre-requisite academic requirements. Students should always be prepared with pencil, pen, notebook and assignment date book when attending class.
- Standards - Standards may vary among different classes. Essentially, successful completion of any class or program will be demonstrated through regular, timely, and accurate completion of practice or homework assignments, acceptable results on tests, carefully detailed projects and active participation in class.
L’Anse Creuse Public Schools and Frederick V. Pankow Center diligently ascribes to the Macomb County School-to-Work Partnership and the Tech Prep College Prep for Employment.
