Grades and Credit

Upon entrance to our school, we contact the students’ home school and inform them that the students are currently attending classes at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center School.  We explain that the students should not be counted “unexcused” while attending school at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center.  When students leave the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center School, we send their home school a report giving the exact dates of attendance along with the classes attended and any grades earned.

  • Teachers grade report cards every four to five weeks and a copy is sent to their school after each marking period.
  • Each report card marking is equal to 1/8 of a credit but not recorded until 1/4 credit has been earned.
  • Credit is noted on the report card and a full semester in the same subject area is equal to ½ credit.
