Non-violent Crisis Prevention InstituteTraining

Non-violent crisis intervention is a safety net when a student is in crisis.  Certified instructors work closely with county and teaching staff in a two day seminar that stresses the care, safety, welfare, and security of the adjudicated youth at all times.
Seminars are presented several times a year.  The seminars discuss in length how to recognize the signs of a child in crisis, the verbal means to diffuse the situation, and the information necessary to decide when and how to correctly use non-violent physical restraint. Two LCPS Juvenile Justice Center Teachers and Three County Juvenile Justice Center Staff have been trained as CPI instructors.
