Science News

Third marking period focuses on weathering, erosion, and soil formation.  We will be learning about weathering agents (chemical and mechanical weathering), the soil horizons, how soil is formed, and soil conservation.

Points will be accumulated from labs (weathering/antacid tablet lab), (rock shake lab), activities (soil scroll), (geology wheel), and quizes &tests.  Extra credit opportunities will be available.

We will be focusing on active reading strategies for third marking period.  We will also be continuing writing scenario response papers and personal narratives. 

We will be reading biographies and creating biography projects.  We will also do an author study.
