         EIGHTH GRADE EARTH SCIENCE

My name is Christina Schurig and I am pleased to be your child's science teacher here at Middle School East.  I've been teaching in L'Anse Creuse for the last ninteen years.  Listed below are some general expectations for your child to be successful in the classroom.

COMMUNICATION

Our MSE agenda is an effective tool for organization and communication.  Careful time and preparation is put into making sure daily work, assignments and projects are noted everyday on the board.  Please ask your eighth grader to see their agenda on a regular basis.  Please feel free to e-mail me at schurch@lc-ps.org throughout the year.  I'll respond to you as soon as possible.

CURRICULUM

The eighth grade curriculum contains many units, and this year thestudents will be using the Holt Earth Science text books.  We are happy to announce that the text book is available for student use online.  Simply go to http://myhrw.com.  Next, type in the user name escience111, then the password f8e8.  Now click on Go to the interactive online Edition.  It's that easy! You'll find reading help, visual concepts, activities and practice quizes!
