Marianne Mertz

     My name is Marianne Mertz.  I am married with two children.  I have been teaching for 11 years.  This is my 9th year teaching at Middle School East.  I graduated with honors from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education where I majored in Science.  I went on to earn my Master's of Art in Teaching from Margrove College.  I enjoy golfing, bowling, reading, teaching and most of all, spending time with my family.

     My teaching philosophy is simple.  I try to make learning science fun by using hands-on activities and encouraging my students to become life-long learners.
