I am a 6th grade science teacher and have been teaching for over 21 years. Prior to teaching at Middle School East, I taught at Middle School North and South. Most of my teaching career has been in the curricular area of Science.
I received an undergraduate degree from Oakland University. I also have a Master's degree from Saginaw Valley University and an Ed. Specialist degree from Wayne State University.
This year in science we will cover 4 basic units: Nature of Science, Energy and States of Matter, Solid Earth and Ecosystems. Through these units we will study the material and come to an understanding through various methods such as hands-on lab experiments, projects and assessments.
I firmly believe that for a child to be successful in school, parents and teachers must work together. I will provide an opportunity here at school for your child to learn, but your help at home is crucial. The most successful students also have parental support and guidance. Please review the agenda nightly with your child and see that homework is completed. Upcoming tests will always be announced early in the week and study material is always available. Feel free to contact me should you have any questions. An email is usually the quickest!
