Organization for Bat Conservation Speaks to Eighth Graders
The Organization for Bat Conservation (OBC) at Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., will speak to L’Anse Creuse Middle School East eighth-graders March 20 on how bats are beneficial to our environment and, in return, how human activities can impact their population. The OBC will demonstrate a bat’s capabilities to echolocate, which supports the eighth-grade lessons in waves and vibrations, said Christina Schurig, teacher. A presentation and live bats will be shown at 9:10 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:20 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:05 p.m. L’Anse Creuse Middle School East is located at 30300 Hickey Road.
