Homework Policy

Developing responsibility and organization in our students is important to the entire student body.  Please familiarize yourself with the policies below.  Contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding these guidelines.

  • Homework must be turned in on the date due in order to receive full credit.
  • Agendas will be used daily.  If students do not have an agenda they will be considered unprepared and four times in a row will equal a detention.  Additional information may be found online and on Homework Hotline.  However, your child's agenda will always be the first line of communication regarding homework.
  • Students who do not turn work in the day it is due may fill out a blue "Late Work Contract" and have it signed by a parent.  Provided the assignment is completed a grade as low as a C- could be assigned.
  • Students may need to do work with a late work contract if it is poor in quality and if it is incomplete as well.
  • Failure to turn work in on the due date and failure to turn work in the next day with a "Late Work Contract" will result in a grade of zero.
  • Students who are absent will be given one day to make up work for each day they are absent.
  • If a student forgets work in his or her locker they may bring it to the teacher BEFORE going to their next class.
  • Often, students will call home to ask parents to bring forgotten assignments or materials to school.  I discourage parents from doing this unless absolutely necessary.  Students are more likely to learn responsibility if they experience the consequences of their behaviors.
  • If there are extenuating circumstances that I need to know about please contact me as soon as possible.
