CARNEGIE MELLON Several Freshmen scholarships are available that are designed to recognize and reward outstanding academic, artistic and personal achievement. Financial aid is not a requirement. Scholarships are renewable for eight semesters (10 for architecture students): Andrew Carnegie Scholarships: Awarded to students in business, computer science, fine arts, liberal arts, engineering, information systems, or the sciences and are worth half the cost of tuition. Carnegie Mellon University Scholarships: Awards are worth at least half the cost of tuition and are awarded to students in business, computer science, engineering, the fine arts, the liberal arts, information systemss, or the sciences. Judith Resnik - Challenger Scholarships: Awards are worth half the cost of tuition are are awarded to students in computer science, engineering, information systems or science. Presidential Scholarships: Awards range from $1,000 to $12,000 and are awarded to artistic and academically talented students whose families qualify for little or no need-based assistance. All admitted students receive scholarship consideration. There is no separate scholarship application process; however, students must apply for financial aid in order to be considered for Presidential Scholarships.
