Modular Technology

Modular Technology is an applied technology course that challenges students to learn a wide-array of technology skills.

Modular Technology teaches students the basics of technology.  Many people think that technology includes just computers.  Technology includes anything that allows us to make life easier or to entertain ourselves.  Students who enroll in the Modular Technology course can expect a hands-on and interactive experience.

Students learn about technology by studying instructional "modules" which uses multimedia computer software as the primary source of instruction.  Learning experiences are supported by applying knowledge learned in the modules to projects and activities.

Students chose to study from the following modules:

Aerodynamics

Animation

Applied Physics

Automation and Robotics

CAD (Computer Aided Design)

CO2 Car Design

Computer Systems & Servicing

Controls & Sensors

CNC Milling

Desktop Publishing Engineering

Exploring Electricity

Flight Simulation

Manufacturing

Video Production & Editing

  Web Design

Drafting

Drafting students will learn how to show three-dimensional objects in a detailed two-dimension functional format.  Beginning and advanced students work together in an interactive environment.

Manual Drafting covers the basics of drafting including; equipment use, measurement, multi view drawing, dimensioning, perspective drawings, sectional and auxiliary views.

CAD - Architectural Drafting covers the basics of building design.  Students will learn how to create basic floor plans, elevations, roof plans and various detailed working drawings for structures.

CAD - Three-Dimensional Modeling covers various concepts in engineering with advanced three-dimensional modeling software.  Students build real objects and create replicas with the software.

Students interested in architecture, engineering, automotive design or any technical designing career should take this course.

Drafting 1 – First Semester - Manual drafting techniques and 3D modeling.

Drafting 2 – Second Semester - Architecture and advanced 3D modeling.
