Make A Difference Day

When is a penny worth more than a dollar?  When classes compete in penny wars, a contest to see which grade can bring in more pennies than the others. 

Silver coins and dollars are deducted from the penny total, so students put those into the other classes’ jars and load their own with pennies.  At many of the schools in L’Anse Creuse this week, students are having penny wars to collect money for Make A Difference Day, the fourth Saturday in October dedicated to helping others. 

The donations will be given to the Macomb County Food Program to purchase turkeys for families for Thanksgiving.  Last year, L’Anse Creuse donated $4251.
