GET READY FOR COLLEGE
This is designed to help students and parents fill out college FAFSA forms For more information go to:
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a form that you must fill out to apply for federal student aid and to apply for most state and college aid.
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
In Michigan the deadline for the application to be received is March 1, 2012 for state aid.
College Deadline Check with the college(s) you are interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about their definition of an application deadline - whether it is the date they receive your FAFSA, or the date your FAFSA is processed.
File the FAFSA form as soon as possible after January 2, 2012. It is faster and easier to apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov Many colleges and universities require this form to be filled out and submitted for scholarships and other aid and their deadlines vary. Check the individual college website for their deadline.
Colleges and Universities send representatives to LC-N in the Fall during school hours to speak to prospective students. Seniors must sign up in the Counseling Office.
On-Line Applications are available on most college websites. The on-line application process is usually less expensive and quicker and some colleges and universities offer incentives to apply online.
