About Mr. Miller...

After graduating from high school, I was sure that I wanted to be in broadcasting.  During my high school years, I worked with the local cable system, dealing with all aspects of television production including directing, audio, camera operation, and production planning.  After a few semesters at Macomb Community College (where I was working on my basic college courses), I decided that television broadcasting jobs would not help me meet my life goals.  Before I knew it, I was taking Calculus and helping run the mathematics tutoring program at the college.  After three years of preliminary coursework, I transferred to Wayne State University to finish my requirements for becoming a teacher.

In 1999, I graduated from Wayne State with BS in Secondary Education.   My major is mathematics and I received a minor in computer science.  The summer I finished school, I interviewed and was hired into my current position at L'Anse Creuse High School.  My goal was to be a high school math and computer teacher, but I ended up with much more.  Opportunity knocked when I was offered the best of both worlds - mathematics and technology!

Since that time, I have enjoyed my days teaching the Modular Technology program.  All I can say is....I LOVE IT!

In my "spare" time, I enjoy officiating high school football and volleyball.  I spent a few years climbing up the college volleyball ranks as a referee, but the fall schedules were becoming unbearable.  I continue to enjoy the high school game and am entering my fifteenth season in each sport as of 2005-06.  Satisfying my love for the broadcast arts, I handle the public address announcing at home girls and boys basketball games, in addition to track, and some football, baseball, and softball.

In 2002, I married the love of my life, Michelle.  She is a teacher at Richards Middle School in Fraser.  We enjoy our two children Ryan and Lindsey, and two cats Priscilla and Abbey.  Our summers are spent traveling and relaxing at the family cottage near Copper Harbor, MI (yes, that's at the top of Michigan!).

In May 2006, I completed my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology from Saginaw Valley State University.
