Marching Lancers 2006!
RECORD YEAR!
The Marching Lancers performed for a large crowd at Ford Field and scored an 82.60 at the Michigan Competing Bands Association Flight II State Finals. This allowed them the highest placement in their history finishing third behind only Jenison and Reeths Puffer High Schools.
The band's score was a record high score at state finals for the Lancers and they scored personal record high state finals scores in Marching, Music, and Visual General Effect.
The student leadership set three goals last Spring for the group: 1. To achieve the highest music scores in Lancer history. 2. To generate spontaneous standing ovations and crowd response. 3. To earn respect from our peers as one of the state's finest marching bands.
ALL of our goals were succesfully met as we became one of the crowd favorites, had the entire East side of the state cheering for us, and successfully met our music score goals.
What an OUTSTANDING season. I hope that you will all have as fond of memories as I will regarding this fall. You were all wonderful people to be around. Congratulations, once again, to you all.
Lancer Bands return from camp-week in beautiful Charlevoix, MI!
The Marching Lancers returned from a week of camp on the shores of beautiful Lake Charlevoix! The weather was pleasant and in the seventies for the entire week and the only rain that mattered was the "Director's Curse". That means as soon as we tried to start loading the trucks to come home, i t started pouring. (for the 5th year in a row)
The students had opportunities to get to know all of our new members through evening campfires, the ghost story, karioke night, the talent show, and our dance. The band also worked VERY hard on our production this fall. The show "RA" will be different and exciting for the Lancer Bands and will offer many creative performance possibilities. I cannot wait to see the entire production complete.
