National Honor Society hosts the Mr Lancer contest
L’Anse Creuse High School’s National Honor Society is hosting a Mr. Lancer contest Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the John R. Armstrong Performing Arts Center. The Mr. Lancer contest is similar to the Miss America contest where 11 selected juniors and seniors will perform a talent, participate in a group performance, answer questions and parade in their Lancer spirit wear and formal wear. The contestants will be competing for a variety of different titles, including Mr. Tough Guy, Mr. Guy Next Door, Mr. Charisma, Mr. Nice Guy and Mr. Fundraiser. The contestant garnering the most votes through monetary donations will be crowned Mr. Lancer. All proceeds will go to the Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan, which provides funds for children’s medical rehabilitation programs. Special guest appearances include performances by the LCHS competitive cheer, step, and dance teams, as well as bands The Crooks and Debb Time Travel. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and The Crooks will perform a preshow. The JAPAC is located at 24600 F. V. Pankow Boulevard. For more information, contact NHS sponsor, Julie Dries, at driesju@lc-ps.org.
