 NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

Next NHS meeting date: TBA

We are looking for volunteers to be in the dunk tank or to help with the dunk tank that NHS is sponsoring at the Tailgate Party.  The party is from 5 pm - 7 pm in the LCHS athletic complex before the home football game on Oct. 3rd. See Mrs. Dries if interested.

Seniors:  If you want your membership to continue into your Senior year, you must turn in verification of your junior year NHS community service to Ms. Patterson (now Mrs. Dries) ASAP!

Need community service?  Check the bulletin board by the Community Service office.  There are always lots of opportunities that you can use for your NHS hours.

Remember that attending meetings and doing NHS community service is part of maintaining your membership!

The L'Anse Creuse Chapter of the National Honor Society is comprised of Junior and Seniors with a cumulative 3.3 GPA or above, who have chosen to become members  and have good teacher recommendations.     

Membership is based on Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character. 

All members are required to perform a minimum  of one NHS community service activity each year that does not go toward regular graduation requirements.  Extra community service is highly encouraged! Members must also attend meetings and maintain their GPA and good citizenship.  In addition, members participate in occasional fundraising efforts.

Officers for the 2008-2009 school year are:  Katie N., Katie H. and Heather N.
