Homework

What is expected:

Every Monday and Wednesday students will have homework. Homework should be completed with an adult. The homework is an extension of what was taught in class. Homework should be returned the next day. In the event that work can not be returned, please write a note.

Writing Topics: (This will start in the middle of the year) At the begining of the month, students are given topics to write on. Students should pick one topic a day and return it to school to share with the class.

Word Wall Words: Each week new words will be introduced to the students. They should be able to read and write these words. Pop quizzes will be given.

Reading Folders: During the week, the students have reading centers that they have 15-30 minutes to complete. On Friday, I check over their work. If it isn't completed, please complete it at home and turned in the next school day.

Class Check-out Books: Some students may choose to check out books from my personal library. These books are leveled according to our district. It is the student's responsibility to take care of the books and return them back to the class the next week. When the books are returned, they may check out new books.

Acclerated Reader: (This will start in the middle of the year!) Please read over these books at home and help your child to be prepared for their Comprehension Test!
