Welcome to Mr. Conger's webpage. This is where you can learn and see more of what we do in Physical Education class!
Currently the Kindergarten classes are learning the rules and routines of the gym. We are practicing jumping jacks, skipping, overhand throwing, and many other gross motor skills. We spend a lot of time on these body movements, as they are the base on which other more advanced skills are built.
First and Second grade classes are refining their skills and building knowledge about exercise and their body. Students are asked to perform some of the same skills as Kindergarten classes, just in more advanced games and activities. These games are designed to challange students physically, mentally, and socially.
The Third, Fourth, and Fifth grades are beginning to demonstrate mastery of the gross motor skills that have been practiced since Kindergarten. We also build on physical, mental, and social skills in a semi-competitive environment. Teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship are introduced and practiced daily.
The Fitness Calendar has some of the exercises we do in school and is now available. The Fitness calendars are a month long set of exercises that can help students practice skills, and get some exercise. Ask your child(ren) to show you some of these skills that we have been working on.
