Arrival/Dismissal Procedure
We are concerned for student safety and want to do all that we can to ensure that your child's school experience is a safe one. We have too many cars out in the mornings and afternoons that lend to potential danger for students. If you are driving your child to school or picking your child up after school, the following guidelines should be followed:
Students MAY NOT cross the street or driveway that cars have access to, by themselves or without the aide of the crossing guard.
The transporting adult must escort students to and from the sidewalk.
The bus circle is for busses only.
NO STUDENT may stand on the sidewalk by himself waiting to be picked up from school. Students are released from the office only.
During school hours, all doors throughout the building will remain locked with the exception of the main office entrance.
We are asking that students are not on school grounds prior to 8:40 A.M. as there is no supervision until that time.
Walkers and Bikers
Any student who lives in a bussing area and wished to walk or ride their bike to school must have a walking pass filled out by a parent and returned to the office to keep on file. A new walking pass must be filled out at the beginning of each year.
Early Dismissal of Individual Students
Students will be released from the school office ONLY.
If it is necessary for your child to be dismissed from school early, please report to the office in person. At this time it will be necessary for the parent to sign out the student. Students will not be released to any person, including relatives, whose name does not appear on the students' emergency data sheet unless a note indicating otherwise is sent to the school office. A note written to the child's teacher regarding arrival or dismissal changes are appreciated. Please make every effort to schedule medical appointments, etc., at times when your child's educational program will not be interrupted.
Your support and understanding is appreciated. These security measures enable us to protect our students.
