Rules and Discipline
The rules for our kindergarten classroom are as followed:
- Keep your hands and your feet to yourself.
- Say kind words.
- Use an indoor voice.
- Share and be fair.
- Try your best.
- Keep your room clean.
- Use your listening ears.
In regards to discipline, we use positive reinforcement and redirection as much as possible with the children. If discipline issues arise, we will give your child three warnings and then place him/her in a time-out. We will discuss the poor choice that was made by your child, and then decide what might have been a better choice. If a child continues in the same manner after that, his/her parents will be notified and we will work together towards resolving the problem. In case of a severe problem arising, the office will be notified immediately.
We appreciate all your support and help as we all work as a classroom community to become more self-disciplined, kinder, cooperative, peaceful, problem solvers and negotiators.
