New Kids Club
by Mrs. Kim Gifford, social worker
The New Kids Club is a program offered to the students in the second through fifth grades who are new to Green Elementary School. Students meet for three sessions during their lunch periods. Students have the opportunity to meet the staff, make new friends, complete activities that help them with the transition to a new school and share experiences common to all new students.
This seems to be a very enjoyable orientation program for the students. Activities include a photo session where the student’s picture is displayed in the hall, interviews about the student, a pizza lunch, questions-and-answers about Green Elementary School and sharing stories about their previous schools. One of the all-time favorite activities is when the students bring a friend to the last group meeting. All of the students have a great time!
The New Kids Club is a very positive experience for the children as they make this transition in their lives. We are delighted to have you and your children as part of the Green School family!
