Meg James
I am currently a 1-2 multiage teacher at Marie C. Graham Elementary. I earned my undergraduate Elementary Education degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I majored in English and have an Early Childhood endorsement. I then earned my Master's degree in Reading and Language Arts from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. I am currently going to Wayne State University to get my Ed Specialist degree in curriculum and instruction focusing on the area of math (which is now on hold due to the new baby coming in January.)
Throughout my career I have received a Target Scholarship, an EDS and Best Buy Technology grant, L'Anse Creuse Foundation grant, Detroit News teacher of the week, and most recently received a grant through the Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union which allowed me to purchase a Dana for my classroom.
I have been active at the education conferences for the Macomb Association for the Education of Young Children. From time to time I am asked to present at conferences and lecture to SVSU students regarding literacy and writing as well as classroom management sharing what works for me with other teachers.
Children are a large part of of who I am and what motivates me. I am proud of my family Liam and Caoilainn (Kay-lyn) and my husband Mark,
