Snacks

The children will be allowed to have a small healthy snack in the morning.  They should bring their snack into the classroom when they arrive and they may eat it during snack time.  I do have a few guidelines that I would appreciate you follow.

1.         The snack is meant to tide your child over until lunch and not a replacement for breakfast or lunch.

2.         The snack should be a nutritious one such as fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, celery or carrots.  PLEASE NO CANDY, COOKIES, SWEETS OR CHIPS.  Some healthy snack ideas:

  • cold cereal (healthy kind of course),
  • half a sandwich
  • cheese and crackers
  • graham crackers
  • fruit
  • vegetables
  • lunch meats and cheese
  • yogurt
  • bagels
  • trail mix
  • pretzels
