I attended Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. I graduated in May of 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, with a minor in Health Education. After working in coporate fitness and the health care field for several years I returned to college, atteneded the University of Michigan to fulfill the requirements for teacher certification. I began teching in Aug 2001, I've taught elementary physical education at Yacks, Atwood and Graham Elementary. I've also taught PE, Aerobics, and Health at L'Anse Creuse High School. I am so grateful to be apart of L'Anse Creuse Public Schools.
Physical activity and physical fitness have been apart of my life. Growing up I played softball, basketball, tennis, and dance. I've been running since college- most recently I ran in the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon in October 2009. I anticipate and look forward to running in many more races.
I believe physical activity and health are of ever increasing importance in today's society. Our nation is faced with more health related diseases that can be controlled thru adequate daily exercise and proper nutrition. Physical education has great potential at having positive influences on the health of our youth. My goal as a physical educator is to have positive impacts on as many children's lives that I possibly can. I enjoy watching children grow socially, mentally, and physically.
