Animated Tall Tales (K-5)

Find the animated versions of classic American Tall Tales like Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, and others on this highly interactive site. Each story is a fully narrated online story book or Flash cartoon for children and kids of all ages.  In addition, children can also find online games and printables.

 

Hortonville Area School District Tall Tales (3-5)

This tall tale website not only includes several tall tales, but, the history of tall tales as well.  In addition, the characteristics of a tall tale as well as a create your own tall tale template are included.  Much like a mad lib, the tall tale template ensures children incorporate all of the important tall tale characteristics.

Within this website, students cannot only learn the characteristics of a tall tale, but can review grammatical parts of speech as well. 

 

Talking Tall Tales (K-5)

Sponsored by the Calgary Public Library, Talking Tall Tales includes four fully narrated and illustrated tall tales.  A great resource to give children exposure to the elements of tall tales.
