Dear Parents,
Welcome to our Third Grade learning community at Carkenord Elementary! My name is Sarah D’Agostini, and this is my eighth year teaching in the L’Anse Creuse Public School district. My career as an educator began in 2001 when I earned my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University. While teaching in LCPS, I acquired my Master’s Degree in Teaching Reading from Saginaw Valley State University in 2004. Most recently, in 2007 I received my Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Oakland University. This year, I am returning once again to Oakland, as I begin studies as a doctoral candidate and hope to earn my PhD in just a few short years. I look forward to learning and teaching with your child as we make our Third Grade year a true success!
Sincerely,
Sarah D’Agostini, Ed.S

Birthdays!
Birthdays are very special days in school. You may send treats if you choose to do so. Cookies, candy, rice crispy treats, etc. are easy treats to serve. Please DO NOT send cake or items that need to be cut.
To help make your child’s birthday special, you and your child may select and donate a book to the class library. The book need not be expensive, but please have your child join you in selecting it. Make sure that your child writes an inscription in the book.
Either your child or myself will read his/her book to the class. Your child’s book will then be added to our class collection of birthday books. What a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday!
