Carkenord Elementary > Staff Web Pages A-F > S. D'Agostini > About

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Third Grade learning community at Carkenord Elementary! My name is Sarah D’Agostini, and this is my seventh year teaching in the L’Anse Creuse school district. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University in 2001 and my Master’s Degree in Teaching Reading from Saginaw Valley State University in 2004. In May of 2007 I acquired my Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Oakland University. I look forward to working with you as we make your child’s Third Grade year a true success!

Sincerely,

Sarah D’Agostini

 Birthdays!

Birthdays are very special days in school. You may send treats if you choose to do so. Cookies, candy, rice crispy treats, etc. are easy treats to serve. Please DO NOT send cake or items that need to be cut.

To help make your child’s birthday special, you and your child may select and donate a book to the class library. The book need not be expensive, but please have your child join you in selecting it. Make sure that your child writes an inscription in the book.

Either your child or myself will read his/her book to the class. Your child’s book will then be added to our class collection of birthday books. What a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday!

Specials ScheduleAbout

Homework!

Each day, your child should be actively engaged in approximately 20 minutes of reading. This can include independent silent or aloud reading, reading with your child, or simply reading to him/her. A homework packet will be sent home at the beginning of each week. This packet will include math homelinks; as well as science, social studies, handwriting, and/or reading comprehension homework. This curriculum extension packet is design to flexibly fit your child’s study habits. Please return the completed packet on Friday with the exception of math homelinks. Math homelinks will be on top of the packet in chronological order. Each weeknight there will be one math page which should be completed at home and returned to school the next day. For example, on Monday when the packet is sent home, tear off the top homelink, complete it and return it to school on Tuesday. On Tuesday complete the next homelink and return on Wednesday, etc.
