Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year.  My name is Laura Zaiglin and I am thrilled to be teaching your first grader this year.  This is my fifth year teaching first grade at Carkenord Elementary.  I graduated from Western Michigan University in December 2003 with a Bachelor's of Science triple minoring in math/science, elementary education, and integrated creative arts.   I recently completed my masters degree in early childhood education at Saginaw Valley State University.

It is my goal to provide your child with the highest quality education ever.  To obtain this, I feel it is crucial to have good communication between the home and school.  Please feel free to contact me any time.
