All About Mrs. Nowak

          I began my teaching career in the early 1990’s at Chesterfield Elementary as a substitute teacher and then paraprofessional.  At the time, I also worked at Sylvan Learning Center as a teacher.  Then came the birth of my daughter at which time I chose to stay home with her teaching part time at Sylvan.  I stayed home with my daughter and my son until I started teaching preschool at Carkenord Elementary in 2001.

          I taught tuition based preschool for two years and then moved into the ECDD program for special education preschoolers.  I worked at the Anna Mae Burdi Center and Tenniswood Elementary for the three years in the ECDD program.

          I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education.  I finished my early childhood endorsement in April 2006.  I am married with two children, Megan, a freshman at LCHSN, and Christopher, a seventh grader at Middle School East.
